From July 1, 2025, all companies in Vietnam, including foreign-owned ones, must register a digital business ID account (called a “business e-ID”). What Is Business e-Identification in Vietnam?

Business e-identification means checking and connecting your company’s details to a government-issued digital account. It works like a secure online ID for companies. You can use it to complete government paperwork on the internet. paperwork.

Each e-ID account includes key company information:

  1. Enterprise registration number
  2. Tax identification number
  3. Business identification code
  4. Registered business address
  5. Established date

Is Business e-Identification Mandatory?

Yes. Currently, businesses can use the government’s websites. However, these platforms will only remain accessible until June 30, 2025. After that date, all paperwork must be completed using the new business e-ID account. Hence, without a verified account, businesses will not be able to:

  • Submit tax filings

How to Register for Business e-ID via the VNeID App?
What is the VNeID App?

VNeID is a mobile app developed by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam. It functions as a digital ID wallet that integrates personal information and allows users to complete administrative procedures online.

Hence, companies must use this app to register the business e-ID.

What are the Requirements to register the business e-ID?
  • The company’s legal representative (or Resident Director – RD) must hold a Level 2 personal VNeID account (currently available only to Vietnamese citizens).
  • If a company has multiple RDs, only one of them needs to do the registration.
What are the Steps to Apply for the business e-ID?
  1. Download and log in to the VNeID app with the RD’s personal account.
  2. Fill in the business e-ID application form.
  3. Submit the form for verification.

Authorities will verify your submitted information on the government’s databases. If your company’s information does not yet exist in the system, you need to take additional steps.

They will send the final result, either accepted or rejected, to the RD via the VNeID app, phone number, or email.

How long does It Take to Do Business e-ID Registration?

The registration for a business e-ID takes no more than 03 working days if the organization’s information can be verified using the government databases. However, if the information is not available in such databases, the process may take up to 15 working days.

The maximum expected timeline to complete business e-ID registration is 15 working days from the date of submission.

Can a Foreigner Register for the Business e-ID?

Starting from July 1, 2025, foreigners can register for a level-2 electronic ID account at Immigration Offices in all provinces and cities across Vietnam.
