In the last 10 years, the demand for IT professionals from Vietnam has skyrocketed, particularly for software developers. The reason behind is those IT companies have been looking away from traditional markets like India, Ukraine, and other Eastern European countries to look for more reasonable (cheaper) hiring costs, and Vietnam is a perfect destination for this.
Vietnam offers a variety of IT roles, particularly in software production and development, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and phone app programming, at a far lower cost than the surrounding countries.
This demand is primarily driven by the increase in technology startups, the expansion of international IT corporations, and the need for operational cost cut in other expensive markets. The Pandemic really added to this trend due to the crisis forcing those international companies to cut the cost by hiring cheaper.

Remote jobs has been a trend in Vietnam
One thing is certain for IT employers, as well as many others in other industries: Covid 19 has completely changed the hiring practice and employment reality in Vietnam. With the threat of a pandemic, people are increasingly preferring remote-jobs, work-from-home jobs, to office-based jobs. They are willing to forego a few perks in order to secure a stable and remote job. If IT companies had to use fancy offices to attract candidates prior to Covid 19, those offices have now lost their allure. Instead, the employer emphasizes flexible working hours and work-from-home options to entice candidates to accept their offers.
